[...] One of the most important results of this (May 25), 2000 victory, which was confirmed and strengthened over time, is to have shaped the equation of force in Lebanon. In 2000, with the Israeli defeat, it became clear that in Lebanon, a force had imposed on the Israeli enemy (by force) to get out defeated, humiliated, fleeing (the battlefield). Israel has not obtained any gain nor was it able to impose any conditions, any security agreement (for an orderly retreat or a peace treaty), any reward or compensation whatsoever: on the contrary, it was a retreat (without negotiations or conditions), a (real) humiliation. And anyway, Israelis themselves unanimously acknowledge this.

[...] The first topic that I will discuss is Israel. I have two issues to address concerning Israel.

First point: there is currently an atmosphere (of fear) in our country, maintained by both open and secret pressure by the United States, by some European and some Gulf countries, and by some Arab and Gulf media. I speak of the repeated assertions... Sometimes these words are attributed to me, and when I deny them, they cease to do so, but they peddle them on their own name –I speak of some journalists, media, (alleged) leaks and analyzes, etc. I mean the permanent threat of (an Israeli) war against Lebanon. (If we are to believe these journalists), Israel is about to attack, Israel wants to start a war, Israel will destroy the country, beware O Lebanese, etc.

Vladimir Putin's Speech on the 74th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany

Vladimir Putin attended a military parade marking the 74th anniversary of Victory in the 1941–1945 Great Patriotic War.

Thirty-five marching military bands and over 130 units of modern military equipment took part in the parade. Overall, more than 13,000 service personnel were engaged.

The parade was traditionally opened by the drummer company of the Moscow Military Music School.

The mechanised column of the parade involved the legendary T-34 tank, Taifun armoured vehicles, BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, BTR-82A and BTR-MDM armoured personnel carriers, Terminator tank support armoured fighting vehicles, Yars missile system launchers, S-400 air defence missile system, Pantsir-S1 gun-missile air defence systems and other equipment.

The music at the parade was provided by the combined military orchestra of the Moscow Military Garrison.

Its days, in the sight of Almighty Allah, are the best of days, its nights are the best of nights, its hours are the best of hours. It is a month in which you are invited to be the guests of Almighty Allah and you are regarded during it as worthy of enjoying Almighty Allah's generosity. Your breathing in it is regarded as praising Almighty Allah and your sleep as adoration, and your voluntary acts of worship are accepted, and your pleas are answered.

[...] The other subject (I want to talk about), my second point, is very important: it is the battlefield where the Sayyed (descendant of the Prophet) Zulfiqar, God have mercy on him, was operating, where he spent the last years of his life, and from where he returned as a victorious martyr, namely Syria. We'll talk a little about it.

Day after day, the validity of our decision and choice to go to Syria is confirmed more and more clearly. (I mention it) because today, we speak of a martyred leader who was killed in this battle. And we are constantly asked for accountability for all the blood (of our fighters we shed for Syria). Every time our friends or enemies write something (about the Syrian war), they ask us about this blood, about our martyrs, a large number of martyrs, a whole constellation of (Hezbollah members) who fought in Syria and got killed or wounded. They ask: who answers for this blood (who bears responsibility for it and justifies it)? We answer for this blood. We answer for these wounds (of war).
